Harmonizing Natural Elements With Man-Made Installations

Pastures, Rocks & Trees deliberately remains a one-man, small, and truly dedicated operation with extensive machinery to reduce the client’s cost. [Essential hand tools always linger on all projects.] Owner/operator John Cleary concentrates on one client’s project at a time, with his client’s encouraged participation.

John developed his concept of sculpting land in New England around 2001 and continued that when he relocated to Tangipahoa, Louisiana, in 2006. Sculpting, or shaping, land is similar to sculpting wood, clay, soft metal – almost any malleable material. That also includes renovating, recovering, and enhancing the natural richness of healthy soils. Depending on one’s definition of boundaries, all outdoor spaces, regardless of size, include one if not all three descriptions: (1) open pastures and fields, (2) closed woods, trees, and shrubs, and (3) installed non-organic, man-made installations (roads, walls, fences, buildings, ponds, drainage systems, gardens, food plots, benches, et cetera). Healthy outdoor spaces radiate energy whether they are a fenced-in pasture, an open field, a single spreading live oak, a grove of trees, a collection of shrubs, an irregularly shaped pond, a single bench, or just a few birdhouses.

Owner John services all three areas simply because they are interrelated and interdependent... not separate. Instead of hiring three separate contractors and then trying to coordinate them, John addresses and integrates all three roles at the same time.
